  5. The Methadones were formed by Dan Schafer (Danny Vapid) of Screeching Weasel, Sludgeworth, and The Riverdales in the mid s as a side project.   7. When I first saw the title of this Methadones album "21st Century Power Pop Riot", I made the sour face. I HATE the term pop. And even more so, I hated how in the early 's bands that were once "Pop-Punk" (before that became a dirty term)were now calling themselves "Power-Pop". As if to say they are more mature now, or some crap like that.
